FAQ
Questions, answered.
What wood is it, and will it last outside?
Western red cedar, which is naturally rot- and insect-resistant and the classic West Coast exterior wood. Every sign is sealed with an exterior spar finish. Refresh the finish every year or two and it will last for many years.
How is it mounted?
With hidden stainless steel hardware on the back, so no screws show on the front. An install card with simple instructions comes with every sign.
Can I see the design first?
Always. You get a 3D design proof by email within 3 business days, and up to 2 rounds of changes. Nothing is carved until you approve it.
How long does it take?
Your sign is ready 2 weeks from design approval.
Do you deliver or ship?
Delivery is free in Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Burnaby, New Westminster. Shipping anywhere in Canada is quoted per order.
Is the design made with AI?
Partly, and I'm upfront about it. AI tools help me develop the 3D relief artwork, which makes a fully custom scene affordable. I compose the layout and lettering, adjust the model so it carves well, and you approve it before anything is cut. The carving is done on my CNC router and the finishing is done by hand. More on how I design.
Can I ask for any design I like?
Every sign is built from one of the styles. Within a style the scene, details and lettering are designed around your home. Working from a set of styles keeps each sign coherent and the price fair.
Can I order for a cabin or a business?
Yes. Cabin names, farm gates and small business signs all work well. Mention it in your order and I'll quote it.
How do realtor vouchers work?
Agents buy vouchers (single or 5-packs) and give buyers a carved wooden voucher card at closing. The buyer scans the QR code, designs their sign and I carve and deliver it, with a discreet “A gift from…” tag on the back. Full details for realtors.
Do vouchers expire?
No. A voucher is for one carved sign, not a dollar amount, and it never expires.
